epoc terms

Updated 15 October 2026

These terms are between you and Lev Gelfenbuim, trading as Frogsoup Innovative, who makes epoc. By using epoc you agree to them.

What epoc is

epoc records meetings on your Android phone and transcribes them through epoc's own service, using Soniox.

  • Free trial. Each install of epoc gets 3 hours of transcription to try it, once. Reinstalling epoc on the same phone may not give a new trial.
  • epoc Pro. A subscription at €7.99 a month or €59.99 a year. It includes 30 hours of transcription each month and the final transcript. The price Google Play shows when you subscribe is the one that applies.
  • Hours don't roll over. Hours you don't use in a month are gone at the end of it.
  • Fair use. One install can transcribe at most 12 hours a day (by UTC). When the service as a whole is very busy, epoc may pause new transcription for the rest of the day.
  • Running out. When your hours run out, epoc keeps recording the audio, so you can transcribe it once you have hours again.

Billing

  • epoc Pro is billed through Google Play, to your Google account, and renews until you cancel it.
  • You can cancel at any time in Google Play. You keep epoc Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Cancellation and refunds follow Google Play's rules.

Your responsibilities

  • You must be 18 or over to use epoc.
  • Tell people you're recording them, and follow the recording laws where you are. In some places everyone in the conversation has to agree to be recorded.
  • Don't misuse the service. That includes trying to get around the hours or the limits, using the service other than through the app, and using epoc to break the law.

Transcripts can contain mistakes

Speech recognition isn't perfect. Names, numbers and technical words can come out wrong, and speakers can be mixed up. Check anything important against the recording.

Availability and changes

epoc is provided as it is. There's no guarantee that the service will always be available or free of faults, and it may change over time.

Liability

epoc's total liability to you is limited to what you paid for epoc in the 12 months before your claim. This limit doesn't apply where the law doesn't allow one.

Ending it

  • You can stop at any time: cancel epoc Pro in Google Play and uninstall the app.
  • epoc may end the service with reasonable notice, and may stop serving an install that breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv decide any dispute. If you're a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of your country's mandatory consumer law, and you can bring a claim in your own country's courts.

Privacy

What epoc keeps, and for how long, is in the privacy policy: https://epoc.si/privacy.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date at the top. Using epoc after that means you agree to the new version.
